Python 2 died 877 days ago on 1/1/2020 so the site should be clear that Jython delivers Python 2 compatibility.

Not sure.

  • Jython implements Python.
  • Jython 2.7 implements Python 2.7.
  • Jython 3.x is still in development.

It is a current statement. Today, Jython currently delivers Python 2 compatibility.

In the future, we can update the page to celebrate compatibility with Python 3.

Edit: sorry, wrong button.

I agree that a clearer statement should be given that the only available version is 2.7, but equally that Jython (the project) aims to implement Python (the language) in a 3.x too.

As a side effect of close-open, codespell ran. :)

I'll fix up the troublesome paragraph.
