Description
Problem
I've found a large number of log entries like this in /var/log/cloudstack/management/management-server.log:
2025-08-07 02:01:52,970 ERROR [c.c.u.d.T.Transaction] (Finalizer:[]) (logid:) Something went wrong that a transaction is orphaned before db connection is closed
The first spike in the graph below aligns exactly with the time I upgraded CloudStack Management from version 4.20.0 to 4.20.1:
The second spike happened in the last three days, during a separate issue in one of the zones (KVM <> NFS communication problems), but it seems unrelated.
I also found a Chinese blog post mentioning this log message in CloudStack 4.20.1 (https://blog.gitcode.com/1915c0e2ee7eef7d19287d9597ee9bfa.html):
In Apache CloudStack 4.20.1.0, the error message "Something went wrong that a transaction is orphaned before db connection is closed" frequently appears in the system log. This issue occurs during garbage collection and indicates that some database transactions are abandoned before the connection is closed, potentially leading to resource leaks or data consistency issues.
[...]
Based on this, is this a known issue in 4.20.1? Or does it look like something specific to my environment?
